ANNUAL CONGRESS

Every year, the Academie convenes a plenary session during which the work in progress is updated. Projects are discussed and the annual report and treasurer’s report are approved and then published in the Annals of the Academie.

SYMPOSIUMS AND EXHIBITIONS

Symposiums and/or exhibitions are organized for each congress:

1995 - Bergerac (France): « The art of unusual things », Alberto Paronelli exhibition
1997 - Bergerac (France): « The pipes of tomorrow »
1998 - Saint-Claude (France): « Why briar in Saint-Claude ? »
1999 - Andenne (Belgium): « Clay pipes »
2000 - Dijon (France): Presentation of the Academie  (works, collections, etc.)
2001 - Windsor (UK) : Lectures on British clay pipes and Japanese pipes
2002 - Sint-Niklaas (Belgium) : « The growth of clay pipe factories in the 19th and 20th centuries in Belgium » - « German research into clay pipes »

WORKSHOPS

The Academie has established theme-based workshops on subjects such as pipe history, pipe collections, pipe manufacture and literature concerning pipes. The research carried out by these workshops will be published.
